What bugs me is that the "hear-say" has already stated which locomotives are more likely to come here: ER 20 CF, the very same ones that went to Lithuania. Or, as a buddy of mine called them, "diesel CP 4700's with a lump". Aesthetically, in my humble opinion, they're a nightmare: the designer who drew them should be shot.
Seeing how they are alike the CP 4700's, you may wonder if I share the same feeling for their electric cousins (and the whole ES46B1-A model). The answer is simple: yes, I do. Even though they're mainly red, which is my favorite color, I think they're ugly as hell. They hugely demotivate me from going out with my camera and shoot some trains - although I wouldn't mind going out with a bazooka and shoot some trains... ^^ Of course, the train drivers have a different opinion: that the locomotives work like a charm, are reliable, have little problems on the highest slopes. But... they don't look that well on a camera, what are you gonna do?
But I digress. This was supposed to be about the new diesel locomotives. And, reiterating, I'd sure quit rail photography if this were true. I mean... would it be too much to ask for a "normal" ER 20 - or "Hercules", for the Austrian - for heavens' sake?! At least they wouldn't have that horrendous front...
In a set of unrelated news, today I start at my part-time job at one of the FNAC shops in Portugal, as a cashier, working on the nightshift. Hooray.
Carry on, now.
