When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

After this slight peak, here it is, a full deviation just for these units, the most numerous CP has, right about now: the CP 2240 series.
Nicknamed Lili Caneças, after the Portuguese socialite (because of her numerous face-lifts, and plastic surgeries), these units were adapted from the old CP 2100-2200 EMU-3 series and now perform all the Regional duties on electrified lines (four of them were painted in yellow and black and were transferred to CP-Porto, for suburban trains). Here, the 12h00 5408/9 Regional train from Coimbra to Guarda leaves the Pampilhosa station. PS: this photo was only possible due to the people at the Pampilhosa station, who allowed me - no, not allowed: invited is the most correct word - to go to the control tower and take a few shots PPS: as all the photos I took that day, the camera's clock was one hour delayed. - CP Electric Unit 2240 series [EMU-3] Builders: SOREFAME / Groupment d'Études & d'Éléctrification de Chemins-de-fer en Monofasé 50Hz / EMEF-GOE (adapted from 2100 and 2200 EMU-3 series) Began service: 2003/2005 Units built: 57 (56 still active) Lenght: 71,060 m (possibly) Weight: 135,7 t Axle formula: unknown Top speed: 120 km/h Power (wheels): unknown |
