It's very, very, very rare to find freight trains on the South Line between Lisbon and Coina - especially since there aren't almost any freight trains on that line: the two that exist, only happen late in the night, with the expected impossible conditions for capture. Most of the blame may be on the 25 de Abril bridge, that, for security and prevention reasons, isn't allowed to have that much amount of heavy trains in there. However, things changed a bit when Takargo decided to operate a train between Martingança, in the Western Line, and Praias do Sado, in the South line, through that bridge. And, as such, and after a series of tests, there they are, twice a week for each side - with the advantage of two of those travels - the Martingança - Praias do Sado trains - being done during the day. And that's precisely what's been caught here, TK 6002 with the 65680/1 freight train, with the Pragal station on its back.
- Takargo Diesel Locomotive 6000 series UIC numbering: 90 94 1 436001 - 90 94 1 436014 Builders: Vossloh AG / Electro-Motive Division [model: Euro4000] Began service: 2008-9 Units built: 4 (so far) Length: 23,020 m Width:unknown Height: 2,860 m Weight: 123 t Axle formula: Co'Co' Top speed: 120 km/h Power (wheels): 3178 kW (4262 hp)
Well, they're both from the same factory in Spain (which belonged to Alsthom and is now owned by Vossloh), they both have EMD motors... I think it's save to assume that Class 67 is a grandfather (or something like that) of these locomotives
